Brautigam, an accomplished student-athlete at Mount Vernon High School and Wartburg College, is in her third season on Dan Schofer’s coaching staffs for men’s and women’s cross country and track & field. She was named Cornell's Senior Women's Administrator in Fall 2017.

Brautigam coaches the sprinters, hurdlers and jumpers in track & field. In those events under Brautigam, the Rams have crowned two all-Americans, nine conference champions and 27 all-conference performers since 2015.

Brautigam returned to Mount Vernon from the University of Sioux Falls, where she served as assistant track & field coach since July 2014. During her short time in South Dakota, Brautigam coached four all-conference performers and two NCAA Division II qualifiers, including an All-American heptathlete in 2015.

Brautigam, a 2014 Wartburg graduate, enjoyed a decorated track career for the Knights as a 19-time all-Iowa Conference performer, four-time NCAA qualifier and two-time NCAA Indoor All-American. At the 2013 NCAA Indoor Championships, she ran on the runner-up 4x400 relay and seventh-place distance medley relay while taking ninth in the 400-meter run.

Wartburg’s women won eight conference team titles and four NCAA team championships – including three national outdoor crowns from 2012-14 – during Brautigam’s stay in Waverly.

Brautigam excelled in the classroom as a three-time Academic All-American. She served on Wartburg’s Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) for three years.

Brautigam earned a bachelor’s degree from Wartburg in business administration with a minor in leadership..

During a distinguished prep career as a four-sport athlete at Mount Vernon, Brautigam was part of the Mustangs’ state championship teams in volleyball (2010), basketball (2010) and track & field (2009, 2010). The Mustangs were state runners-up in volleyball (2008, 2009) and track & field (2008), and qualified for the state softball tournament in 2009 (sixth) and 2010 (fourth).

Brautigam was a three-time elite all-stater in track and a two-time first team all-state selection in softball. She ran on eight state championship relays and placed second in the open 400 in 2009. Brautigam was a member of the runner-up 4x400 and 4x800 teams at the Drake Relays.
