Kahl became Cornell's sports information director in July 2007 after serving two years in the same role at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant.

Kahl, recipient of Cornell's 2014 Staff Appreciation Award, handles all daily duties for the 19 NCAA Division III intercollegiate sports on the Hilltop.

Kahl, a 1995 graduate of Clarence-Lowden High School, earned a bachelor's degree in communications from Central College in 1999. While at Central, Kahl played baseball one season and worked in the sports information department four years.

Kahl was sports editor at the Mount Pleasant News for one year (1999-2000) and sports writer at The Hawkeye in Burlington for five years (2000-2005). He is an active member of College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Kahl and his wife, Melissa, reside in Lisbon with their daughter Kamryn, 9, and son, Klayton, 6.
