MOUNT VERNON – Cornell's first two games back in the Midwest Conference summed up the 2012-13 season for coach Chad Murray's men's basketball team.

 MOUNT VERNON – Cornell started to work its way back from a sizeable deficit, but ran out of steam in the closing stages of a 95-76 Midwest Conference setback to Beloit in Saturday's regular-season finale in the Small Multi-Sport Center.

GRINNELL – Cornell's men's basketball team overcame the first Grinnell surge, but not the second as the host Pioneers prevailed, 99-90, Tuesday night in Darby Gymnasium.

MOUNT VERNON – Cornell set a program record for free throw percentage in a game, but came up short in a Midwest Conference men's basketball shootout with Lawrence, 97-90, Saturday afternoon in the Small Multi-Sport Center.

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – Cornell's inside game delivered clutch points and Peter Catchings flirted with a triple-double as Cornell pulled out a 74-69 road win over Midwest Conference foe Illinois College Thursday night.
