MOUNT VERNON – Cornell junior guard Reggie Greenwood was an honorable mention choice on the 2012-13 All-Midwest Conference Men's Basketball Teams released Wednesday.
Greenwood, of Berkeley, Ill., was one of two honorable mention picks, and among 12 total players recognized on this year's teams.
Greenwood picked up his third all-conference award in as many seasons. He was a first team All-Iowa Conference selection in 2011-12, and a second-teamer in 2010-11.
The 5-foot-8 Greenwood showcased his versatility, ranking in the league's top 10 in seven statistical categories during the regular season. He finished fourth in the MWC in three-point percentage (44.0), fifth in steals (1.5 spg), and was seventh in scoring (15.7 ppg) and free throw percentage (82.1). Greenwood stood ninth in assists (3.5 apg) and 10th in three-point goals made (1.9 pg) and assist/turnover ratio (+1.0 pg).
Greenwood sank 101-of-123 free throws – the third-most makes in the MWC – for a Ram squad that ranked third in Division III free throw percentage at 77.1. He also led Cornell with 80 assists and 44 three-pointers made. Greenwood averaged 4.0 rebounds, third on the team.
Greenwood reached double figures scoring in 19 of 23 games, including a career-best 31 against Monmouth Jan. 15. Greenwood made at least one three-pointer in the 22 games he had an attempt.
Greenwood ranks sixth on Cornell's career list for both assists (270) and steals (107). He is 21st on the all-time scoring list with 986 points in 73 career games.
Greenwood is among five starters projected back next season for the Rams, who finished 8-15 overall and 7-11 in the MWC under fourth-year head coach Chad Murray.
Ripon senior Taylor Koth headed the five-player first team as MWC Player of the Year. Gary Grzesk of St. Norbert was tabbed Coach of the Year.
