MOUNT VERNON – Cornell's Haley Harmon (SO/Becker, Minn.) (softball) and Eric Daubach (SR/Omaha, Neb.) (baseball) have been selected Midwest Conference Pitchers of the Week in their respective sports for the period ending April 16.

Harmon gained her second MWC weekly award of the season after collecting all three pitching wins during Cornell's 3-0 week. The Ram sophomore struck out nine and did not surrender an earned run over 12 innings.

Opponents batted just .213 against Harmon, who went the distance in Saturday's 7-6 Game 2 victory over Monmouth that completed a sweep and bumped the Rams (17-7 overall, 7-3 MWC) into a tie for second place in the conference race.  Harmon fanned eight batters in that contest.

Harmon worked two scoreless innings of relief in Cornell's 3-2 nine-inning decision over Monmouth in Game 1. Also in a relief role Thursday, Harmon logged three shutout innings in a 6-3 eight-inning victory at Dubuque.

Harmon is 12-2 on the season with a 2.32 ERA. She has 63 strikeouts in 78.1 innings.

On the baseball mound, Daubach fired Cornell's first complete-game shutout in two years Thursday, a 3-0 home win over Iowa Conference foe Loras.

Daubach limited the Duhawks to six singles while fanning three and walking two. The senior right-hander struck out the final batter of the game with two runners on base.

Daubach is 1-3 this spring with a 2.57 ERA over 42.0 innings. He has gone at least 7.0 innings in his last four pitching starts.

Cornell's baseball team (9-13 overall, 5-3 MWC) plays Luther Thursday at Ash Park Field. The scheduled nine-inning game starts at 5 p.m.

The Ram softball team plays host to UW-Platteville at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Vernon Softball Complex.
