MOUNT VERNON – Cornell's home softball opener against rival Coe March 22 has been postponed due to inclement weather and rescheduled for next week.

The Rams (8-2) and No. 15 nationally-ranked Kohawks (13-1) will play one seven-inning game at 4 p.m. March 27 at Mount Vernon Softball Complex.

The winner earns one point toward the 2016-17 Bremner Cup All-Sport Series, which Cornell leads 6-4 with five head-to-head competitions remaining.

Cornell is off to a strong start to the season, winning its final six contests at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Fla. The Rams averaged 7.2 runs per game on the trip and posted a 1.86 team pitching ERA.

Coe enters the week on an 11-game winning streak. The Kohawks have beaten four nationally-rated opponents this season.
