COLUMBUS, Ohio - Cornell College senior thrower Madison Craw
fell short of a finals berth in the shot put Saturday afternoon at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Capital University.
Craw finished seventh in her flight and took 13th overall in the 15-woman field. The top nine distances advanced to the finals, with the top eight performances earning all-America honors.
Craw's best toss was 43 feet, 4.5 inches. She missed the finals cutoff by 10.75 inches.
Craw carried the fifth-best mark into the competition at 46-0.5.
This was Craw's second appearance at indoor nationals. She also qualified in 2009, when she placed 14th with a mark of 41-10.
UW-Wisconsin Oshkosh's Holly Ozanich recorded a winning toss of 50-1.75, which set a new arena record. Sarah Reasoner of Calvin College was second at 48-4.50.
