MOUNT VERNON - Cornell senior Madison Craw (Mason City/Mason City) has been named the Iowa Conference's Female Field Performer of the Week for the period ending Feb. 20.

Craw set an NCAA automatic mark in winning the shot put at the Spartan Open Saturday in Dubuque. She delivered a personal-best toss of 46 feet, .50 inches on her final attempt, which qualified her for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships March 11-12 in Bexley, Ohio.

Craw's mark leads the IIAC and is tied for fourth in Division III this indoor season. Her throw set a new facility record at University of Dubuque's A.Y. McDonald Track. Craw also placed fourth in the weight throw with a distance of 44-09.75.

Head coach Lonnie Speidel's Rams have now had a track and field athlete honored by the IIAC after each of the team's last five meets. This is Craw's second conference weekly award during the span.

The Rams compete in the IIAC Indoor Championships Feb. 25-26 in Pella. The meet gets underway at 10 a.m. Friday with the pentathlon.
