Cornell women, Craw earn All-Academic honors

MOUNT VERNON - Cornell College's women's track and field team has been recognized as a 2010 NCAA Division III Track and Field All-Academic Team by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).  Also, senior Madison Craw (Mason City/Mason City  earned USTFCCCA All-Academic individual honors.

Head coach Lonnie Speidel's Cornell women achieved a 3.23 cumulative grade point average during the 2009-10 academic year. They were joined on the list by Iowa Conference women's teams from Central (3.16), Loras (3.29) and Simpson (3.48), and men's teams from Loras (3.11) and Simpson (3.11).

To qualify for USTFCCCA academic individual honors, the student-athlete must have compiled at least a 3.30 GPA and have met the Division III Indoor or Outdoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard in their respective event.

Craw established a provisional mark in the shot put during the outdoor season.
