Message to our Fans

From Head Coach Jose Michel Fajardo:

MESSAGE TO OUR FANS:

Moving forward, I have a message for our student body, parents, families, friends, supporters, administrators, players, basically anybody that loves THE RAMS and Cornell College. We need to create some positive energy around our soccer program. It's going to take an extreme amount of work. It's going to take a lot of the right people going in the same direction. Organizational alignment here in this athletic department and in this soccer program is going to be essential to our success.

ON WINNING CHAMPIOSHIPS:
I am not going to make a lot of goals that talk about results with winning games and championships. We are going to worry about making goals that make us better tomorrow than we were today. That is all it's going to be about.

The wins will come. Hopefully championships will come.  But that is not my focus. That's not going to be the program's goal, at least early on. It's about getting better every single day.

ON MY STYLE OF PLAY:
My style of play is one that makes my teams better tactically than the other teams. A style of soccer that it's also technically more accurate and productive than our opponents and it fits our needs.  A system of play that allows us to either be faster physically or quicker technically than the other team. Finally, a superior state of mind and mental toughness of style of play and living that will enable us to handle the ups and downs of a whole soccer season.

ON WHAT I WILL DEMAND OF STUDENT-ATHLETES ON AND OFF THE FIELD
What I am looking for from our student-athletes are commitment, accountability and great effort in everything they do. I am asking them to make great decisions. They have got to be a great teammate. They have got to be able to be trusted. And if we can do those things, then the rest will take care of itself.

MY MISSION STATEMENT
It won't include anything about wins; it won't include anything about championships. It's going to include and talk about the about the environment we are going to create to develop these soccer players mentally, physically, technically, tactically and spiritually to reach their full potential and to be successful in life after soccer, and if we can get that done, the wins will come.

ONE TEAM, ONE DREAM
Women's Soccer

At Cornell, we take pride in caring for our teammates.
In this way we will fight together, we will progress together and we will become successful together.
One day at a time.
One step at a time!
Unity, hard work, passion, love and respect for the sport and each other will make us achieve our goals on and off the field.

READY TO BECOME A RAM?
One team, one dream, one life experience!

"I choose Cornell because of the balance between academics and athletics. I'm still able to have a Biochemistry and Molecular Biology major and play the sport I love. Challenging myself in a competitive environment is what I strive to do and Cornell offered me that. On top of everything, our team is focused around being a family and I've made life long best friends on the team. I'm so excited and ready for the future of Cornell Women's Soccer."

"Being a part of the Cornell Soccer program has enabled me to grow as a leader, be challenged as an athlete, and gain an understanding of how to participate on a collegiate team. The team is accepting many positive changes with new teammates, a new coach, and a new attitude. This excites me for the future. Cornell's block plan allows the student-athletes to excel in their academics, as well as, their athletics because of the schedule, the ability to focus on one course at a time, and the availability to spend quality time with the team"
